I Went to Skool

I attended my first Kinky Kollege for Spring Break just a few days ago and I have a lot of thoughts and a lot of gratitude for everyone who made the event possible. In the before times, I would have written this, possibly these, post(s) as soon as i got home. Now, though, I got home and fell almost immediately asleep, the proceeded to work and return to my regular full schedule which has left no time or energy until nearly a week later. I am starting to compose this first bit as a break from an enormously long, overly ambitious Spring Cleaning to do list.

Initial thoughts (with links):

  • It was strange, as someone who has only attended hotel takeover events, to see families with small children in the hotel hallways.
    • On the other side of that, the event staff did a very good job keeping the event private.
  • Next up, the classes – there was a huge class list, full of interesting topics and a variety of presenters.
    • I enjoyed and took notes in every class I attended and have bookmarked notes threads even for classes I didn’t, but wanted to, attend.
  • The dungeon and the side dungeons were well stocked with furniture and allowed space for walking around and watching scenes.
    • I am more used to the furniture being more intermingled instead of rows of the same thing along each wall in the main play space.
  • I did enjoy that a tarp was taped down in the hall for bootblacking, so that we had proper light to perform this service while also protecting the carpet.
  • The vendors were great – so many pretty shiny, pokey, smacky, ropey, and fluffy things!
  • My group also took a field trip to the Leather Archives & Museum which was so very cool and I wish I lived closer so I could work there.

Okay, so more thoughts to come on classes, scenes, and LA&M, but I must get back to cleaning (as of posting this, I must get back to work, it was a busy weekend).
